The movie for which he all but shaved his head has not met his expectations. ‘Ghajini’, directed by A Murugadoss, is complete and the director reportedly held a special screening of the film recently for Aamir. After watching the movie Aamir wasn’t very thrilled. His scrutinizing eyes singled out scenes which he believed needed to be re-shot. Respecting Aamir’s judgment, Murugadoss has reportedly decided to re-shoot some scenes.The only problem is that Aamir is presently shooting Raju Hirani’s film 3 Idiots in which he has a different hairstyle than that of ‘Ghajini’. So Aamir won’t be able to reshoot for ‘Ghajini’ until he wraps up ‘3 Idiots’, which means at least a month. Aamir is a star whose opinion is respected by peers in the industry. Recently, directorSanjay Gadhvi showed Aamir his movie Kidnap to get his opinion. Aamir gave thumbs-up to the film.Though some industrywalas think Aamir crosses his line at times and interferes in a director’s work, most of the people who work with him. Before he left for 40 days shoot to UK for London Dreams, he invited Kat for a dinner at his home and gift-wrapped the portrait. But who would have thought Imran Khan would parallel his co-star while they were shooting for the film in Mauritius? It seems Imran and Minissha have shot a chilling underwater sequence in the film, which is among the highlights of the film and also the point when she gets kidnapped. Both the actors rehearsed for the scene for almost a fortnight before taking the 'dive! Confirms director Sanjay Gadhvi, "We trained in Mumbai in a pool. It was an elaborate shoot with a dedicated underwater DOP and a standby team of divers for rescue. I've used the same underwater specialists as the ones used in Dhoom:2. While shooting the scene I was on the boat watching the shot on the monitor, which was attached to the underwater camera by cables. We had special communication equipment through which Imran and Minissha could hear me say 'action' and 'cut' while they were underwater." Jacquet had directed March of the Penguins (Marche de l'empereur, La) for which he won an Oscar in 2006 in the Best Documentary, Features category. Incidentally, Bachchan had dubbed as a narrator for the Hindi version of the documentary, which was released in India. Currently in Paris, Bachchan writes on his blog, "Meetings here have been going well. There are some more to be conducted tomorrow and from the looks of it there may be consent on the French project. It will be in English, produced and directed by French personnel, those who made March of the Penguin, the Oscar winner and it will be set in India and France. Perhaps work starts next year end. That is all that one can talk of right now." Additionally, Bachchan is also in talks with Hollywood writer Paul Schrader, who has written Martin Scorsese's films like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull amongst a host of others. The movie is an amalgamation of rural and urban Punjab. It is a story of a boy who comes from a village to the city for higher education. The film shows how he engages in student politics and how it impacts his personal life,' said Babbu Maan, Punjabi singer who is playing the lead character in the movie. "The movie portrays both the positive and negative shades of student politics. It has a message for everyone, especially for the student fraternity," said Maan. The film was shot in Chandigarh and Ludhiana. "To gain first hand experience, I remained with student leaders of Panjab University for many days," Maan said. "This is the movie for today's youth and I believe that every youngster will relate to this movie. The movie is based on university elections, so to give it an authentic feel we have done maximum shooting in the Panjab University campus in Chandigarh,"said Gaurav Trehan, director of the movie. "I am not blindly adapting the Iranian film 'Children Of Heaven'. I am moving completely away from the original material to set the story in Assam with the insurgency as the backdrop.I saw the Iranian film and its Singaporean version 'Home Run'. I'm not following Majidi's screenplay from the Iranian film at all. I'm only retaining the core of the original. I'm Indianising the screenplay completely, changing and adding more characters," says Priyadarshan. Giving Darsheel company in the film would be a new child-actress named Zia. She will play his sister. Priyadarshan chose Zia from the many hopefuls who auditioned for the role. Atul Kulkarni and Rituparna Sengupta play the two kids' parents. Apparently, this running down of their numero uno position has not gone down well with SRK and Aamir. He said, “For the moment at least, after the release of Sinngh is King, Akshay was considered to be the number one and people too have accepted him as the number one hero. Now Preity is from Shimla and educated at a public school there and so despite knowing Punjabi she was not fluent in the language. So she went to a top acting school and got herself trained and tutored for the same. The crew panicked as the underwater currents had pushed her about 2 kilometers away from the coastline while Minissha was blissfully unaware of the situation. As a result, Amrita has now stopped promoting the film as she is obviously upset with the director and the producer of the film. She did not attend the press conference and media interviews held at Mehboob Studios recently and did not even attend the Lalbaughcha Raja promotional event to make her disapproval evident. When contacted, Amrita refused to comment on the issue. When contacted, Samir Karnik, the director of Heroes had a different story to tell. “There is nothing like that. During the press conference of Heroes, Amrita was shooting for Golmaal Returns and during the Lalbaughcha Raja event, she was unwell. I am sure she will attend the next press conference that we are having on September 18. And the issue of chopping her song doesn't arise as she had no song in the film with Sohail to begin with” . Apparently, the production unit of Anurag Sinha's yet-untitled film is scheduled to shoot in Amritsar and Chandigarh during the Durga Puja. As a result, Rani's plans for the Durga Puja with her family have gone kaput. While her family will celebrate the Puja in town, she will be off shooting for Yash Raj's film. What's more, it didn't help when Rani expressed her displeasure at the prospect of missing out on the Puja, to Adi. Recently, Rani and Aditya had an argument when Rani requested Adi to change the dates so she could be in town to attend the Puja. Salman and Preity would be hoping though that Heroes does well since Jaane Mann of being a well made film, was massacred at the box office due to King Khan’s Don. They play cameos in the film and are a part of one of the many segments in Heroes. There is this entire Sunny Deol-Bobby Deol track and also the one where Mithun and Dino come together. The film basically tells the journey of two youngsters (Sohail Khan and Vatsal Seth) as they come across all these 'real heroes'.'' However, even though Salman and Preity aren't seen throughout the length of the film, the couple does spell success, as witnessed from the films they have done in the past which have gone on to be box office successes. When they came together for the first time, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, the film was a hit. Their next outing, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke was successful as well. The plotline is the type that holds appeal for a miniscule section of audience. The problem with THE LAST LEAR is that there's too much Shakespeare in the movie,which everyone cannot dissolve. Besides, all theatre themes may not hold good on cinematic level. Yet, there's no denying that THE LAST LEAR has its share of engrossing moments. A few individualistic sequences are noteworthy as also the portrayal of characters by some prominent names. But that's not enough! In a nutshell, THE LAST LEAR fails to connect. At best, it may find some patronage at Festivals, but there's nothing for Indian moviegoers. Harry [Amitabh Bachchan] lives for acting, loves theatre, adores Shakespeare and absolutely detests cinema. Enter Siddharth [Arjun Rampal], a movie director. He is smart, Harry finds out in the very first meeting. He is glad to have found a cerebral partner to have a conversation with. Slowly, they bond over coffees, vodka and conversations. Harry decides to work in Siddharth's film. New relationships blossom. But an incident changes everything… Director Rituparno Ghosh's choice of the subject has its limitations. It's good to think different, but THE LAST LEAR is abstract. From the writing point of view, a number of points remain unexplained and even if they are, it's difficult to decipher. Like, for instance, Shefali Shah's hatred for Preity is unexplainable. Also, the accident and the aftermath lack clarity. Why does Arjun want a retake? Why does he want Amitabh to perform the death-defying jump all over again? This, when he knows that Amitabh can't see without his glasses. This and many more questiopns remains unanswered. Amitabh Bachchan is the life of THE LAST LEAR. But it's definitely not his best performance so far. The actor has delivered stronger performances in the past. He's good, not great. Arjun is evolving into a fine actor. After ROCK ON!!, this is another performance that would fetch Arjun laurels. Preity is very effective. Shefali Shah is superb. Divya Dutta is wasted. Prosenjit is alright. Jishu impresses. On the whole, THE LAST LEAR has something for the Festival circuit, but nothing for the cinema-going audience in India. Shilpa was referring to the fact that everything that was being said by Sambhavna had to ideally be beeped out as she was using a lot of foul language akin to what Nethra Raghuraman was using in another show of Colors called 'Khatron Ke Khiladi'. In fact, Shahrukh even joked that working with her was like working with a ‘child labor’ as she was only 20 when shooting for the movie; the actress had then shared that has was barely 9 when she first saw SRK’s flick ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’. In what is possibly nothing less than a shocking revelation, the news has just come in that Himesh Reshammiya's upcoming film KARZZZZ has seen a change in plot when compared to the Rishi Kapoor original. In the Subhash Ghai classic, Raj Kiran was shown to be in love with Simi Garewal and was born as Rishi Kapoor in his next birth, only to fall in love with Tina Munim and then take revenge from Simi. However, in the upcoming remake, the twist in the tale is brought about by the character who plays Himesh's love interest. That's because here, Tina (played by debutant Shweta Kumar) turns out to be none other than Kamini's [Urmila Matondkar] foster daughter. In KARZZZZ, there were certain elements which had to be made a little differently. So there is this situation where Himesh is in love with a girl who is his tormentor's daughter. Even though Tina isn't Kamini's biological daughter, Monty here still is in love (albeit in his new 'janam') with the daughter of the wife of his previous 'janam'. Quite a 'janam janam' situation here which is bound to create dilemmatic situation.However rest of the plot has been left untouched. It is the same Sir Juda (Gulshan Grover) who has an evil eye on Ravi Varma's [Raj Kiran] mansion, the same Kabeera [Danny Denzongpa] who helps Monty in unearthing his past and the same mother-daughter pair who form the thread which ties the two 'janams' together. Despite the debacle of Love Story 2050, she has a lot to look forward to this year and so do her fans. The actress is believed to have done a bikini number in Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana . Also recently she has gone ahead and done a sizzling number in the soon-to-be released Drona. The actress will be seen in a lot of glamorous avatars this season. First was her golden bikini bit in Dostana, then there is the Drona item number, finally culminating in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion. But coming back to Drona, the actress has just shot an item number for the film. It is believed to be the female version of the title track, to be sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. The dance has been choreographed by Ahmed Khan. The actress plays a character called Sonia in the film. Sonia is Drona's bodyguard. Her character is portrayed as being tough and intense and powerful. The actress professes to have enjoyed shooting for the film as her character was a different one and for which she had to undergo a lot of training. Priyanka's role is perhaps a first for Hindi cinema, where the female is the bodyguard and a sexy and tough one at that. Though there hasn't been any smoke so far, it is apparent that both Priyanka and Mugdha are going all out to ensure that their presence in Madhur Bhandarkar directed FASHION does get noticed by one and all. This is why it can't be shrugged off as a mere coincidence to see both the ladies, who have a lot to prove with Fashion, strike a pose for different magazine covers, in a span of one week. However, producer-director Bhandarkar chooses to completely shrug away the insinuation and vehemently denies any so-called war between the two actors. However, just before the release of Rock On!!, Prachi got offers for two films - Abbas Mustan's Life Partner and Mahesh Bhatt’s Jashan, both of which she signed. After Rock On!! has been received well and Prachi’s performance appreciated, one would think that she would be doing more films, rather than walking out of some. After Rock On!!, two new big banners have approached her and she is in the process of finalising the deal with them. But looks like these untoward incidents have proved a blessing in disguise for Tanushree Dutta. Especially the Nana incident on the sets of Horn Ok Please, after which the actress has been inundated with film offers, despite the 'unprofessional' image it got her. "Incidentally, after that episode I have been getting a lot of offers. In fact, after that the number of offers has actually doubled up for some strange reason," says Tanushree gleefully. But as they say, once bitten twice shy, the actress has been taking it real slow this time around. "I have turned down many an offer that has come my way. That's because I have suddenly caught a phobia for all these new people. If today I have to sign a movie I would definitely do it with an acclaimed director, producer or an actor. Because, when even after working so hard such things happen, I just feel I'd rather be a glorified wall flower in a big movie and work peacefully than work with small-time directors," says she. But the actress agrees that the offers do signal something positive. "The industry did support me in that way. I thought that people might take calls based on other people's decisions but the truth is that there are people who have worked me before and, thankfully, they did not pay heed to these rumours. I signed an offer right after a week after that incident!" she reveals. Surely Tanu has moved on to better things and says that she has become stronger thanks to the negative phase. "I am looking at better things now. I have stopped thinking what people say about me. You care till a time you are worried, when you are not doing anything…and for the first time someone calls you a villain, you feel bad. You try hard too hard to prove that you are not like that. But it happens again and again and at a point you get immune. Now it does not matter to me," she says, matter-of-factly. Though she does admit that she had veered away from films a bit due to personal reasons. "I may have become lax in between but I had my reasons for it. Salman came to stage no 4 at Mehboob Studios and inquired about Abhishek’s whereabouts. When a production guy showed him Abhishek’s vanity van, without hesitation Salman immediately proceeded towards his van. Of course, Abhishek was quite surprised on seeing Salman in his van but said nothing. It was Salman who initiated the conversation by asking about Abhishek’s forthcoming films. That got Abhishek talking. Eventually they started chatting and discussed general topics. Salman also made it a point to ask about Amitabh Bachchan and their recent Unforgettable Tour.” Once they got over the initial awkwardness, they began chatting like long lost friends. When Salman asked Abhishek about his next releases, the latter began showing Salman the promos and posters of his upcoming film Drona, which were stored on his laptop. They also spoke about Salman’s passion for painting. Suddenly, the ever impulsive Salman told Abhishek that he’d like to paint a poster of Abhishek in Drona. Abhishek too got excited about Salman’s offer after which they sat down to finalise a poster for Salman to paint. But she sprang a surprise when she showed up for the fashion show dressed in a stunning navy blue gown and with a handsome man on her arm. Inquiries revealed that her suave and dashing escort was Prince Tuli, 36, a financial analyst from New York whose family owns a business empire in central India that runs into hotels and resorts, schools and colleges, malls and motors. Not much else is known of him, not even whether Prince Tuli belongs to any of the erstwhile royal families of the country or Prince is just his name. But Yuktaa, 29, and he are close friends on a popular social networking site. On Saturday, she travelled in a local train all the way from Goregaon to Churchgate, and the train had no other passengers except Priyanka and her five staff members! As Priyanka urgently had to reach NCPA, Nariman Point at 8 pm for an award ceremony, the producers of Kaminey, Mubina Rattonsey and Vishal Bharadwaj arranged for the train. The train was shuttling between Goregaon and South Mumbai. The shoot was called off when the train reached Goregaon around 6.15 pm.” Priyanka was in a fix as she had to reach NCPA for an award ceremony. Priyanka knew that she would have never reached NCPA at the scheduled time thanks to Mumbai's traffic. If she had taken her car, she wouldn't have made to the venue before 9.30 pm. Rattonsey and Bharadwaj realised her problem and asked her to take the same train all the way to Churchgate. As it is, they had the permission to shoot in that train all day on Saturday. It was an unbelievable sight! Priyanka arrived at Churchgate station at 7.30 pm. The awards ceremony organisers sent a car to pick her up from Churchgate station. Some of Priyanka's staff who were not with her on the train even suggested that she should step out of the local train in a burkha. But Priyanka flatly refused even though many people recognised her when she got off at Churchgate station. Her staff had arranged for a few security guards who immediately took her to her car. Priyanka added, “It was very kind of my producers Mubina Rattonsey and Vishal Bharadwaj to arrange the train for me so that I could reach the event on time. I felt completely pampered. A whole train for me and my staff!
